Adult Ministry Opportunities

Adult ministry at White Rock Baptist Church involves many different facets of Church life.  We have age appropriate Sunday School classes, traditional worship services, prayer meetings on Wednesday nights, verse-by-verse small group Bible study on Monday nights, and opportunities to serve in the community.

Our Sunday School classes start at 9:45 A.M. on Sunday mornings in the building marked “Classrooms.”  These classes are a great place to form friendships with others in your age group around the study of God’s Word.  Some of these classes meet outside of church for meals and fellowship during the year.

At 11:00 A.M., following Sunday school, our worship service begins.  Our services are “traditional” in that we sing worship songs from a hymnal; however, that does not mean that these services are boring.  Our pastoral staff loves to have fun and that is clear in the way they lead our worship.  Many of the songs in the hymnal are great works of poetry and have great meaning, which creates an atmosphere of worship; some have even been made into modern songs that many do not realize are originally from a hymnal.

Sunday evening services start at 5 P.M. This is a wonderful time of informal Bible study lead by the pastor through individual books of the Bible.  This time together usually consists of worship, teaching, prayer requests, and joining together in prayer.

Wednesday nights we gather for dinner at 5:30 P.M. in the building marked “Fellowship Hall” and our service starts at 6:15p.m.  While the children and youth are in their own classes, the adults gather for prayer meeting and a short teaching time in the Sanctuary.  It is very important for God’s people to pray together and to support one another, and our Wednesday night services provide an opportunity for our fellowship to do just that.

We also meet on Monday nights for Bible study from 6:15-7:30 P.M.  During this meeting time, we study the Bible verse by verse and discuss the Truths we discover as a group.  This is facilitated by the associate pastor but discussion and questions are welcome and encouraged.

Finally, our church has established relationships with We Care in Chapin and with the Lowman Home, whom we both serve once a month.  At We Care we help pick up goods, stock shelves, and prepare packages that are given to those in need.  We usually meet there on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 2:30 P.M.  At the Lowman Home we play Bingo with the residents every 4th Sunday beginning at 3:00 P.M.  Many in our congregation provide $5 bills to give as prizes. We also have a “prize cart” so that no one leaves empty handed.  This is a time that is a lot of fun and a blessing for both the residents and for our volunteers.

Our goal at White Rock Baptist is for our congregation and those who visit to grow in God’s love and make His love known to those in the community.  We would love to have you join us for any of our services or community outings!
